Exciting Photo Shoot!

So, I'm finally shooting with my favourite model once again--my girlfriend.

She's doing her makeup right now and I'm sitting on the computer answering business emails, waiting until she finishes so we can go downstairs to the condo parking garage and do some grungy fashion stuff.

I'll try and update with some unedited web-sized pictures once we're done.

UPDATE: here are the photos, as promised.

Just having some fun while shootin'.

Don't f*ck with an old man wearing a fanny pack.

Seriously, don't f*ck with dudes wearing fanny packs!

Photographers Unite!

Hello all,

After being approached numerously for estimates from prospective clients, I sought after pricing and licensing advice from a few Toronto photographers. I had asked several established commercial and highly influential photographers their opinions towards how to best price commercial gigs.

Only one replied honestly, which is a shame because as photographers I think we should stick together and defend the rights to our images and give insight to each other to help price assignments at fair rates, allowing us potential for future business while not stealing work from underneath the noses of other photographers due to the fact that "a photographer was willing to do it cheaper, so I hired him instead".

In an attempt to shed some light to newer photographers on the fact that assignments should be priced based on usage in addition to creative fees and expenses, I highly encourage photographers to read the information offered on the following website (http://asmp.org/links/32), as well as potentially even purchase FotoQuote (invaluable software if you're pricing very often!), available at:

It's been a while.

Just recently someone asked me why I had stopped updating my blog.  To be honest, updating my blog with pictures and funny stuff that goes on in my life is a full-time job.

I'll start that back up and see where I end up.

Meanwhile, I've been assisting several models by giving them a sort of Modeling 101 class.  Thanks to celebrity photographer Joe Edelman, the above website explains pretty much every point I have given, in a nice and easy-to-navigate website (just click the 'model advice' picture).
